Someone bumped into a fuel pump with their boat at one of the gas docks and the two glass covers fell into the water. I was able to find them pretty quickly and also picked up this beer can. That’s been down there a while!

It was nowhere near the spot the owner thought. It’s hard to remember exact locations out on the water. What a fun and busy day! I started out the early morning in Monroe, grabbing some isinglass. There was quite the algae bloom at that marina. Afterwards, I stopped at a beach for some swimming. When I started getting calls and got out, my cart (and car keys!!!!) were missing. I thought for sure it had been stolen, but it turned out a park ranger had decided to take it and throw it out, despite there being many people in the water. Strange choice, but I was sure relieved to get them back.

After that, it was off to grab another piece of isinglass and a phone. After I found the phone, I was told about a pendant that a kid at a fuel dock had lost, so I decided to try and find it. It was quite the challenge! There was loads of seaweed, and tons of metal debris to sort through. After about thirty minutes I did manage to find it, plus a couple of gas caps and a fuel key. Turns out one of the workers had lost one of the fuel caps and was glad to see it.

Next was a quick nap and then off to find one more phone. Definitely an enjoyable day of recoveries.

Some fun jewelry finds today! The Rolex clasp was tricky to find. It’s so small, and there was a lot of metal debris in the area it was dropped. I found a bunch of staples, foil, and nails with my metal detector before I finally ran into it. The Pandora charm bracelet has been in the water about a month, so it’s a little tarnished. The silver will clean up nicely and it will be good as new with a little TLC.
